On reports of smoke coming from the roof of this premise and the alarms sounding, both appliances from St. Austell were mobilised, on arrival there was found to have been a fire involving an oil fired aga, which was fortunately out, the building was heavily smokelogged, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building and proceeded to ventilate the premises. The positive pressure fan was also used at the incident. Westcountry Ambulance were requested and treated three casualties for the effects of smoke inhilation. The cause was accidental.
