After reports of flooding, one Fire Officer was mobilised to Porthallow to assess the situation and to determine if Cornwall Fire Service could do anything for the flooded residents. When on scene the Officer liaised with an Environment Agency representative who was also on scene observing the situation. The middle of the village was approximately 2 foot deep in river water, this water was flowing out to sea, there was little the fire service could have assisted with. At 02:30hrs the rain had eased and the water levels in the village were subsiding. The Environment Agency remained in attendance after the Fire Service left the scene monitoring the situation.
