River Cober

Helston at 20/12/2012 02:05

Six firefighters from Helston and a Fire Officer were in attendance in the town from 02:05 hours this morning due to the high water levels in the river Cober. A flood warning has been issued for this river by the Met Office. Crews regularly inspected the river height as pulses of heavy rain were causing the river to rise and fall within a few inches of the top of the river banks. At 06:08 am the rain had eased in the Helston area and the river levels had stabilised and crews were stood down.
