Appliances from St Austell and Mevagissey along with the Rescue Tender from Bodmin attended a report of a road traffic collision at 19:21. On arrival the crews confirmed that one vehicle had been involved in a collision and had over turned in a foot of water with a person trapped inside. Firefighters used crash rescue equipment and air bags to stabilise the car and release the person.
The casualty was left in the care of the Ambulance.
