Person Rescued From Flat Fire

Eight firefighters from Delabole and six firefighters from Bodmin attended a call from a Carer to a property with the fire alarms sounding. The carer was on site and said that they believed the occupant of property was in the building. This incident was made to be ‘Persons Reported’. Crews entered the building wearing two breathing apparatus and one hose reel with a covering jet. Crews found the elderly occupant at the top of the stairs in the premise and assisted him from the building. The fire involved a lamp, where a bare bulb which had caught some material alight. The casualty was treated on scene for possible smoke inhalation. Once the fire had been extinguished crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the building. The cause of this fire was accidental. There are no more details available on this incident.
