Hoax Call Puts Lives At Risk

Fuller Road, Perranporth at 31/01/2004 00:43

Appliances from Perranporth and Newquay along with police and ambulance personnel responded to a report of a house fire with persons trapped. Following a search of the area the crews found no fire and no sign of the caller. The police are now dealing with this crime.

Whilst the emergency crews were responding to this call, they were not available had there been a genuine call in this area. This put many peoples lives at risk.

Hoax calls are a very serious offence and if caught, offenders will be prosecuted and may face a custodial sentence.
