Sea view terrace, Redruth at 14/02/2013 04:52

Nine firefighters on two appliances from Redruth attended a call to a bedroom fire in a property. Shortly after their arrival crews reported the fire as being ‘well alight’ and requested ‘make pumps two’. An appliance from Camborne with six firefighters was mobilised to the scene. One flexi duty officer attended the fire, as a precaution the fire was upgraded to a ‘persons reported’ as the occupancy status of the premise was unknown. The fire was in a two storey semi detached residential property measuring 10 x 8 metres. One casualty suffering smoke inhalation was taken to hospital via land Ambulance. Using two breathing apparatus, one jet and one hose reel the fire was extinguished. Fire fighters confined the fire to the bedroom area and later confirmed ‘all persons accounted for’. The cause of the fire is currently unknown; a fire investigation will be carried out by Fire Officers later this morning.
