At 00:27 this morning a call was recieved from a person stating they thought a house was on fire. Two appliances with a total of twelve firefighters from Camborne and St Ives were mobilised. On arrival crews made the fire 'Persons Reported' as they believed that people may have been staying in the property. The domestic premise measured 10 x 8 metres and the porch had been totally destroyed by fire on crews arrival, at this time the fire had spread to the roof space. Two breathing apparatus, one hose reel, a covering jet and a thermal imaging camera was in use. At 00:53 hrs a request for 'Make Pumps 3' was made for breathing apparatus, a second appliance with six crew from St Ives was sent on to the fire. At 01:11 hrs a full search of the premise by breathing apparatus teams had been carried out, at this time it was established that the premise was unoccupied. Crews continued using one hose reel jet and two main jets on the fire. At 01:25hrs a fourth pump was requested to attend, an additional six firefighters from Penzance were mobilised to the incident along side a Command Support Unit from St Just and an Operational Support Vehicle from Falmouth.
Update 02:00 hrs - Currently 37 fire crew are on scene fighting the fire, the fire has now been contained to the loft space of the property. Six breathing apparatus, one jet, one hose reel jet and small tools are in use tackling the fire.
Update 03:30 hrs - 42 Firefighters remain in attendance at this incident ground, the fire is now out, crews remain on scene damping down using four breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet. The incident is soon to be scaled down. A fire investigation is being carried out to establish the cause of the fire.
Update 04:45 - A fire investigation at this premise has now been completed. One crew of six firefighters remain on scene assisting with the securing of the premise.
