Firefighters from St Austell responded to an actuation of an automatic fire alarm. When they arrived they discovered that there was a fire in a laundry room and requested a further two fire crews. These attended from St Austell and Fowey. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hosereel to extinguish the fire by 1945hrs. The fire crews were detained for a time, clearing smoke from the building and investigating the cause of the fire. Following the investigation, the cause of the fire was determined to be accidental. All the fire crews had left the scene by 2130hrs.
