On receipt of a call from Falmouth Coastguards via a yacht moored in St. Martins Bay reporting a gorse fire, crews from St. Martins, Tresco and St. Mary's were mobilised, the crew from St. Martins were quickly on scene and reported a small area of gorse alight, which was extinguished using a high pressure hosereel, no further resources were required. The fire was caused by persons leaving a barbecue at the scene.
