One fire appliance from St Columb and one fire appliance from Newquay attended a report of an out-of-control bonfire. Firefighters used one hosereel to damp down the fire.
If you are planning to have a bonfire, please ensure that you have the means to extinguish it and that it is not close to any other combustible material. Please also have consideration for neighbours and the effect that the smoke will have on them.
If you notify Fire Control on 01872 320205 just before you light your bonfire, it may save us sending out fire crews unnecessarily, should someone else dial 999 thinking that it is out-of-control. We will ask for your name, telephone number and exact location/address of the bonfire.
