Eleven crew on two appliances from St Austell attended a call to a two storey semi detached dwelling with smoke issuing from the kitchen. The property was full of smoke on crews arrival, crews entered the premise wearing two breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher. The fire in the kitchen involved paper which was on top of a toaster, the fire was removed to outside the building before being extinguished. Once the fire had been extinguished, crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the building. Before leaving scene crews fitted two smoke detectors in the building.
