On receipt of this call, appliances from Liskeard and Bodmin were mobilised, there was reported smoke coming from the roof of a large property, on first attendance it was reported that smoke was issuing and further appliances were requested making a total of four appliances to attend, shortly after this message, further resources were requested and a total of six appliances and the aerial ladder platform were mobilised.

The fire is involving a detached three storey manor house, measuring thirty metres by twenty metres, the fire is located on the second floor, teams of firefighters are committed at this time using high pressure hosereel jets and main jets.

Update 1345 hours: The incident is now increasing in scale, a total of eight appliances have been requested to attend the incident, two water carriers and the aerial ladder platform are also attending.

Update 1400 hours: At this time Cornwall Fire & Control have requested resources from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue, resources in attendance and en route at this time are from: Bodmin, Liskeard, Saltash, Looe, Callington, Lostwithiel, St. Dennis and Truro, also two resources from Devon. Over fifty personnel are attending the incident.

Update 1445 hours: The property is reported as well alight, and broken through the roof, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using main jets and hosereel jets at this time. The high volume pump from Newquay has now been mobilised to the incident.

Update at 1700 hours: Crews are still heavily committed at this time, relief crews are attending from St. Columb, St. Dennis, Bodmin, Wadebridge and St. Austell.

Update 21:30. Within the next hour the incident will start to scale down and all but two appliances,a water carrier and an officer will leave the scene. The remaining two appliances will be monitoring and damping down until the morning when a fire investigation will take place.

Update: 0600 21/8/13 Two appliances,a water carrier,two support vehicles and an officer remained on scene overnight using hose reels to continue to damp down. A fire Investigation is taking place mid morning to determine the cause of the fire.

Update 1030 hours: Fire Investigation Officers are now on scene. Appliances from Bodmin and St. Austell are also in attendance extinguishing hot spots, the command support vehicle from Launceston is still on scene.

Closure of incident @ 1400 hours. Cornwall Fire & Rescue Fire Investigators have now finished their investigation and have classified the fire as accidental. No further information is available regarding the incident.
