A total of twenty one crew on appliances from St Mawes, Mevagissey and a Rescue Tender from Camborne have attended a serious single vehicle road traffic accident near Carne beach, Veryan. The vehicle involved had rolled and one male was trapped in the wreckage of the car. Fire crews worked for approximately 27 minutes using crash rescue equipment to perform a difficult extrication of the casualty. At 18:57 this evening it was confirmed that the casualty had been released from the car. At this time the condition of the casualty is unknown, Devon and Cornwall Police have requested the road to be closed by Cornwall Highways.
