A second caller stated that they believed a young male had re-entered the first floor flat on fire and the incident was changed to be a potentially life threatening fire. The flat was alight when crews arrived, forced entry was made to the premise and two breathing apparatus and one hose reel were used to extinguish the fire. Once the fire was out and crews had searched the flat it was confirmed that no one had been involved in the fire. Crews ventilated the property and carried out a fire investigation. The cause of the fire was identified as being a lap-top which had been left on the top of a cooker. A smoke detector was fitted in the building before fire crews left the scene.
