Two fire appliances from Newquay Community Fire Station and an ambulance attended a report from a passer-by that smoke could be seen coming from a property and a person was outside coughing badly. On arrival, it was discovered that a saucepan had been left on a stove and had caught fire in a flat. The fire was already out and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a positive pressure fan to clear the smoke. The occupant was treated by ambulance personnel for the effects of smoke inhalation.
