Isles of Scilly - Gorse Fire Fought By Firefighters From 3 Islands

Cornwall County Fire Control (who are also responsible for receiving calls and mobilising firefighters from the Isles of Scilly Fire Brigade), mobilised firefighters from Tresco, Bryher and St Marys to a large gorse fire being fanned by strong winds. Assisted by members of the Coastguard and a fire crew from Tresco Heliport, the fire was fought on 3 fronts being extinguished by 1622hrs. Crews remained for about 2 hours damping down.
