Six firefighters in an appliance from St Austell were mobilised to an incident where a loud bang had been heard. Crews investigated in the area of Mount Charles Road. At 23:10 hrs an assistance message was passed asking a second appliance from St Austell to attend a premise on Clifden road where there was a cooker on fire. Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel was used to extinguish the fire.
