On the initial call for this incident, one pump from Liskeard attended for the fire alarm sounding. On arrival further resources were requested as there was a reported fire within the building, a further appliance from Liskeard attended, on the report of smoke issuing from the eaves, further resources were requested and eventually in attendance were appliances from Liskeard, Callington, Looe, Lostwithiel, Saltash, Bodmin, Wadebridge and St. Austell, specialist appliances from Launceston and St. Austell were also in attendance as well as water carriers from Liskeard and Wadebridge and a hydraulic platform from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue.
Update 0200 hours: The unit measuring seventy metres by thirty metres is heavily smokelogged crews are gaining entry, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using main jets at this time. Approximately eighty personnel are in attendance at the incident.
Update 0300 hours: The interior of the premise is completely involved at this time. The fire is being fought from the outside, with water monitors being committed on all four sides, a safety assessment has been undertaken at the scene and it is deemed unsafe for firefighters to be committed to the building.
Update 0400 hours: A Silver Command Meeting has taken place between agencies at the scene. Disc cutters are in use on roller shutter doors to create additional entry point to enable the use of firefighting water jets, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are committed a short distance into the building with a main water jet.
Update 0500 hours: Teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are committed at this time. Due to the proximity of the incident to the main A38, it is expected that severe traffic disruption will be experienced in the area. Devon & Cornwall Police are liasing with Cornwall Highways to organise diversions within the area.
Update 0600 hours: Crews are now using the positive pressure fan to ventilate the premises and monitor internal conditions, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are still committed at this time.
Update 0730 hours: The incident is scaling down at this time, with several resources returning to home stations. A Fire Investigation will be taking place later this morning.
