Isles of Scilly - Large Area of Gorse Alight - Firefighters from all 5 Inhabited Islands Attended

Firefighters from Bryher, Tresco and St Marys fought a large gorse fire on Bryher all night. The fire in the north of the island was being fanned by strong north-easterly winds. Later in the morning more firefighters from St Marys and firefighters from St Agnes and St Martins took over from their colleagues. The fire was extinguished by 1416hrs and the last crew to return to station was at 1635hrs.
