Flooding through out Cornwall

Since Early this evening Cornwall Fire and Rescue service has attended a number of flooding and weather related calls in the County. At 16:49 five firefighters from Penzance attended a commercial property on Cornwall Terrace in the town and used an ejector pump to remove an estimated four inches from the property. At 17:50 Eight firefighters from Lostwithiel also used a pump in a commercial property which had four inches of water on the ground floor. At 18:08 five firefighters from attended a report of a river due to burst its banks and it was believed it was threatening to flood a domestic premise and crews used a light portable pump to remove water from the river over a bridge to the other side of the river to alleviate pressure on the river walls. The river was at Pendarves near Camborne and fire crews remained on scene pumping until Highways crews were in attendance to close the road. A further incident involving an electric cable arching was attended by five firefighters from Camborne; crews remained on scene until Western Power engineers were in attendance.

Update 19:35 Cornwall Fire and Rescue service are still in attendance at several incident, details will be posted as and when details become available.
