At 0109 hours the FRS were called to a house fire. The occupant of the property was alerted to the fire by a fire alarm which had been fitted by the Fire Service. Two fire appliances from Truro fire station with a total of ten firefighters were mobilised. When crews booked on scene a third appliance was requested, one fire appliance from Falmouth fire station with five firefighters were mobilised to the incident. The two storey semi detached dwelling had a well established fire on the ground floor The property was terraced and measured about ten metres by 15 metres, firefighters wearing six breathing apparatus searched the premise for any casualties, two hose reels and two covering jets were also in use at 01:37 hrs. Western power engineers were requested to isolate the power supply and Cornwall Highways were requested to assist as the firefighting water was freezing on the incident ground. This morning a fire investigation will be taking place to establish the cause of the fire. A Building control officer was requested to attend the scene to assess the building.
Update at 16:00 The fire investigation has now been completed and has concluded that this fire started accidentally.
