The Fire and Rescue Service have attended a number of calls in the Launceston and Callington areas where people have been caught in their vehicles in rising floodwater on the roads. Heavy rain resulted in deep water in some places and a number of vehicles were involved. The Service assisted several people from their vehicles to a place of safety. None of these situations were life threatening. The Service would like to remind drivers not enter flood water where they cannot be sure of the depth or of a safe exit.
