Property Fire

St. Georges Road, Nanpean at 26/12/2013 02:47

On receipt of this call, appliances from St. Dennis and St. Austell were mobilised. On arrival at the premises, crews found a fire in the hallway of a two storey semi detached dwelling measuring approximately four by six metres, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were committed to the building and used a high pressure hosereel to extinguish the fire. The premises was then ventilated using the positive pressure fan after the building was completly searched by Fire & Rescue personnel. No one was within the building at the time of the fire. Western Power attended to isolate power to the building due to the supply arcing.

Two next door neighbours were treated at the scene for smoke inhilation and then transferred to hospital by Westcountry Ambulance for further assessment.

The neighbours were alerted by the smoke alarms in the adjoining property, which once again highlights the importance of having working smoke alarms within your property.
