Roof Blown From Building

At 11:22 a 999 call was received from a domestic premise which had sustained substantial roof damage after sheeting from an adjacent farm building had blown onto the bungalow. Initially one appliance with five firefighters from Saltash were mobilised, soon after arriving on scene a second appliance was requested to assist – a further four firefighters from Saltash was mobilised. The building involved measured 30 x 10 metres and comprised of two semi-detached bungalows – both had sustained roof damage and there was a possibility of further damage from adjacent roof sheeting. Fire crews used salvage sheets with general purpose lines, a roof ladder and short extension ladder to help secure the roof.
