At 11:48 Cornwall fire control received a call to a property with smoke coming from the roof, two appliances from St Just with nine crew were mobilised, a second appliance from Penzance with five crew were also mobilised on request of the oncoming crews. On the arrival of St Just fire crews a request of make pumps four was made as there was smoke issuing from the roof of the building. The building involved was large measuring 15 x 10 m and the fire involved 25 percent of the first floor and roof. A second appliance from Penzance with five firefighters and an appliance from St Ives with six firefighters were mobilised to the scene. At 12:12 crews were using four breathing apparatus to tackle the fire; one breathing apparatus team entered the roof space to check the spread of the fire. At this time a triple extension ladder was in use along with a thermal imaging camera one main jet and a hose reel jet.
At 13:08 six breathing apparatus were in use as crews ventilated the building and checked for hot spots.
As of 14:25 hrs two breathing apparatus are in use cutting away and damping down.
Update 15:00 the fire in the premise is now out, the fire spread to the ground floor and roof space of the domestic property. There is smoke damage through out the building and crews remain cutting away and damping down. This incident is now being scaled back and Cornwall Fire and Rescue service will be carrying out a fire investigation on Monday morning.
