On receipt of a call stating that a property had been struck by lightning, appliances from Camborne and Redruth were mobilised, on arrival it was found that two semi detached properties had been struck by lightning with one property heavily smokelogged, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property with a high pressure hosereel jet and a thermal image camera, a fire was located on the first floor and crews extinguished the fire and proceeded to ventilate the property. Further properties in the vicinity were searched to ensure that a power surge had not affected those properties. One person was treated by attending Westcountry Ambulance personnel for the effects of smoke inhilation. Fire & Rescue personnel stood by until the arrival of Western Power.
