Firefighters from St Mawes Community Fire Station, Police and Coastguard cordoned off the sea front at St Mawes for public safety, where seawater was flooding the road and properties. The roads affected were Lower Castle Road, Marine Parade, Kings Road, The Square and Tredenham Road. Cornwall Highways attended to replace manhole covers that had been lifted by the force of the water. The firefighters left the scene at 1900hrs, once the tide had receded.
