Firefighters from Penzance and St Just assisted residents along South Terrace, Morrab Road, and Cornwall Terrace, Penzance, where the sea was crashing over the Promenade. Where necessary, people were evacuated and when the tide had turned, properties were pumped out. At one property in South Terrace, an electricity meter caught fire due to the floodwater and firefighters assisted the occupant until Western Power Distribution engineers arrived to isolate the electricity supply. The last fire crews left the scene at 2150hrs.
