Roof Fire

One fire appliance from Redruth, one fire appliance from Camborne, one fire appliance from Falmouth, one fire appliance from Truro, the aerial ladder platform from Truro and an operational support vehicle from Falmouth are in attendance at the St Day Inn, where the roof is well alight.

Thirty firefighters, some wearing breathing apparatus, are fighting the fire using two jets and two hosereels.

Update 0230hrs: Good progress is being made. The fire has been knocked down and hotspots are being extinguished. One jet and two hosereels are in use.

Update 0300hrs: The fire is under control. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using one hosereel are damping down hotspots.

Update 0330hrs: Three fire appliances, one each from Redruth, Camborne and Truro remain in attendance damping down. A fire investigation will continue into the morning.

Update 0400hrs: Damping down is now complete and all the firefighters have left the scene. Fire investigators will continue the investigation into the cause of the fire later in the morning.
