Eleven firefighters on two appliances from St Austell attended a call to the sound of a smoke alarm actuating and the smell of burning. Crews made a forced entry and searched the smoke filled flat wearing two breathing apparatus with one hose reel. On searching crews found that a chopping board had been left on top of a hob, the fire was out on crews arrival, crews ventilated the premise before returning to station.
