Currently 41 firefighters from Cornwall Fire and Rescue service are in attendance at a barn fire near to the A30 at Summercourt. The barn measures around 15 metres x 8 metres and was well alight on the crews arrival. At 20:40 hrs crews from St Columb, St Dennis, Newquay, Perranport and Truro are in attendance along with a water carrier from Wadebridge, breathing apparatus support from St Austell and an Incident command unit from Launceston. Crews are tackling the fire using one main jet, one hose reel jet and a ground monitor in use.
As of 21:45 hrs Crews have made good progress at the fire and have two ground monitors set into a hydrant on the fire. The incident is being scaled back and two appliances from Newquay and St Dennis are to remain on scene overnight monitoring the fire.
