Fifteen firefighters on two appliances from Falmouth and a fire service boat were mobilised to a 20 foot boat on fire on a mooring in Mylor harbour. Thirteen repeat 999 calls were received to the incident and the boat was well alight on crews arrival. The vessel was around 150 metres from the shore out into Mylor creek and Lifeboat and Coastguard crews also attended. The owner of the vessel contacted the fire service to confirm there were no persons on board. Six firefighters were deployed on the fire boat to the incident and a further five firefighters were taken to scene on a marina launch. Crews used one main jet on the fire. Due to the severity of the fire unfortunately the vessel sunk whilst firefighting actions were being carried out.
