Fire In Ground Floor Flat

Carnon Downs, Truro at 06/06/2014 16:22

Two fire appliances, one from Truro and one from Falmouth were mobilised to a report of smoke coming from a ground floor flat and a person inside the property. On arrival the Truro crew soon requested an extra two appliances, also coming from Truro and Falmouth, plus Police and Ambulance. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus very quickly rescued a person from the ground floor flat who was suffering smoke inhalation. Smoke had also perculated to the flat above and fire crews assisted the two occupants to safety. Crews also used two hose reel jets, a covering jet and two thermal image cameras. The crews gave oxygen therapy to the casualties who were then left in the care of Ambulance personnel. The incident is now scaling down and further update will be posted when we have more information.
