One appliance from Penzance and one appliance from St Just attended a report of smoke in a flat. On arrival crews found the flat to be heavily smoke logged but the elderly resident was already safely outside of the premises. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the flat to investigate and found a grill pan had been left on, it was extinguished using a small amount of water.
