At 05:19 this morning a number of 999 calls were received to a business premise where there was smoke and lots of banging noises coming from the compound. Two appliances with nine crews from Penzance were mobilised to the scene. Firefighters had to use crash rescue equipment to make their way into the premise through large gates and once on the premise confirmed that there were four Lorries involved in the fire. The Lorries were well alight and crews used four breathing apparatus with one hose reel and one jet supplied by a hydrant to extinguish the fire. At 05:58 crews confirmed that the fires had been extinguished. At this time the cause of the fire is unknown. A fire investigation is currently under way to try to identify the cause of this fire.
