At 17:33 several 999 calls were received to a 8 x 6 ft shed on fire on Trelawney Parc in St Columb. The shed was close to a house and three appliances from St Columb, Newquay and St Dennis were mobilised with a total of fourteen crew. On the first crew’s arrival the requested fourth major appliances attend - a second appliance from Newquay with six and an appliance from Wadebridge with six firefighters were mobilised. The fire had spread from the original shed which was to a second shed and the fire was threatening the gable ends of the two neighbouring properties. Crews used two breathing apparatus, two thermal imaging cameras, one jet and one hose reel connected to a hydrant. Once the fire had been extinguished a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear smoke from the properties affected. In total four domestic dwellings were affected by the fire with the two sheds almost destroyed. A fire investigation is being carried out to establish the cause of the fire.
