One appliance from Newquay attended. The crew used 2 hosereels to extinguish the bonfire and cool the gas cylinder. Fortunately, on this occasion, there were no injuries.
General Advice:
Bonfires should be supervised at all times.
Means of extinguishing the fire should be kept close at hand.
Bonfires should be lit well clear of buildings and other items that may catch fire.
Cosideration should be given to the affects the fire will have on neighbours and road users.
Some items are not permissable to be burnt and advice should be sought from the Environmental Health Department of your local council.
NEVER PLACE GAS CYLINDERS OF ANY KIND ONTO A FIRE - THIS MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURIES.
