Deer Rescued From Clay Mica Pit

At Melbur Pit, Scareswater, near St Dennis, the RSPCA and fire crews from St Dennis, St Austell and Bodmin attended a deer that was stuck in a clay mica pit measuring approximately 100m circular in diameter.
Water rescue and rope rescue equipment crews prepared an inflatable rescue path and lines to effect the rescue and used 2 inflatable rescue pads with 2 fire personnel in order to reach the deer.
The deer was successfully rescued from the pit and was released into the wild.
