Kitchen Fire

off Rhind Street, Bodmin at 22/07/2014 11:36

At 11:36 hours today, Fire Control received a 999 call from a neighbour to a 2 storey residential property that appeared to be on fire, as smoke was billowing out of the windows. She was particularly concerned as she was also unsure if anyone was at home – she had been knocking on the property’s door, before calling us and during the call, to try to get the occupants’ attention, but to no avail.
On the arrival of 2 appliances and crews from Bodmin Fire Station, it was found to be a fire confined to the kitchen. All persons and animals were quickly accounted for and two of the crew wore Breathing Apparatus and used one Hose Reel Jet & one Safety Jet to put the fire out; and then a Positive Pressure Ventilation Fan was used to clear the smoke.
Following his investigation, the Fire Investigation Officer has confirmed that the fire was accidental and confined.
This is all the information that Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service have on this incident.
