Appliances from Looe and Polruan together with the water carrier from Liskeard attended a fire in a combine harvester, which also involved the corn inside. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire which involved approximately three tonnes of corn in the middle of the combine. They were detained some time pulling out the corn and damping down. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
