Gorse Fire Close To Cliff

The first of 15 calls was received at 2118hrs to a large gorse fire burning close the the cliff edge. Firefighters from St Ives, Camborne and Penzance attended. Due to the close proximity to the cliff edge and the dangers of firefighting in darkness, crews allowed the fire to burn under control. When it was safe to do so, beaters were used to extinguish the remaining hotspots. Crews left the scene at 0130hrs.
