Seven firefighters on two appliances from St Columb and five firefighters on an appliance from Newquay attended a call to an industruial deep fat fryer on fire. A fire blanket was used to smother the fire and an thermal imaging camera was used to monitor the temperature of the oil in the fryer until it had cooled sufficently. One casualty suffering slight smoke inhalation was treated by fire crews on scene using oxygen.
