Fire crews from Falmouth were this evening called to Budock Water, where there were reports of a combine harvester on fire within a field of corn. Upon arrival, fire crews found the combine was well alight and used 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and 1 hydrant to fight the fire. The combine harvester was reported to be full of diesel. The Police were requested to assist with traffic control and the Environmental Agency were informed. Crews damped down the vehicle and area and checked for hot spots using a thermal imaging camera.
