Property Fire

Firefighters are currently in attendance at a property fire in Helston. On arrival crews reported that a detached two storey house was well alight, and made an assistance request for “make pumps 3”, further appliances were mobilised to assist. Crews using six sets of breathing apparatus two hosereel jets and two covering jets extinguished the fire. A thermal imaging camera was used to confirm the fire was out and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the property of smoke. There has been extensive damage to the ground floor of the house.

Update 1444- A fire investigation is currently being carried out by two fire investigation officers. The fire investigation dog (Nelson) is assisting, and Devon and Cornwall Police are also on scene.

The fire and emergency support vehicle (FESS) is currently providing support to the occupants of the property.

Update 1646- The fire investigation is now complete, the fire is believed to have been accidental.
