At 1456 hrs Fire Control received several calls stating there was a shed on fire in Porthkea, near Truro Two appliances from Truro attended and the first informative from the officer in charge advised this was a portacabin measuring approximately six metres by three metres and was totally involved in fire. Firefighters wearing two breathing apparatus used one jet and one hose reel to tackle the fire. An Ambulance was requested to attend to a male casualty suffering from smoke inhalation, after being checked over by paramedics the casualty was taken to hospital.

At 1554hrs crews were still involved in cutting away the area and damping down.
