Nine firefighters from St Mawes and five firefighters from Truro were mobilised to a propery whose smoke alarm was sounding and had sparks coming out of the chimney. Initially it was believed that the property was on fire, however on the arrival of fire crews it was confirmed that the fire was contained to the chimney. Crews extinguished the fire in the hearth before clearing the fire using a triple extension ladder and small tools. The premise was smoke logged and crews investigated in the property to check that the fire had not spread.
