At 20:06 this evening Cornwall fire and rescue service received a call to a fire in a flat in Redruth. The fire was reported to be in the living room believed to have started by lit candles. Due to the premise not having been evacuated the incident was made ‘persons reported’. Two appliances from Redruth and a further two from Camborne were mobilised to the scene near Redruth town centre. In total there are 22 Firefighters on scene. On arrival there was smoke issuing from the four storey building. Fire crews used a total of four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets on the fire. At 20:26 it was confirmed that there was no people involved in the fire and it was confirmed that ‘all persons were accounted for’. Crews made good progress and breathing apparatus were withdrawn at 20:51. One female casualty was left in the care of Westcountry Ambulance paramedics.
