Appliances from Launceston, Bodmin and Delabole attended a report of a smoke logged property on the outskirts of Altarnun. This was a single storey bungalow measuring approximately twenty metres by ten metres which was smoke logged. The attending crews and officer were unable to gain access or raise anyone in the premises, there was concern that someone may be trapped inside. However, firefighters gained entry and confirmed that no persons were in the bungalow. The fire had started in a log pile too close to the woodburner. The fire was extinguished by firefighters wearing two breathing apparatus and using one hose reel. A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the smoke from the property.
