Firefighters from Newquay along with Police and Ambulance crews responded to a call to a house fire, in which the caller said that members of his family were trapped. The call turned out to be a hoax and the police are now dealing. If anyone has any information regarding the person who made this call, please call Crimestoppers - 0800 555 111.

Whilst personnel from the emergency services were responding to this call, they were not available to answer genuine calls. This put peoples lives at risk and is seen as a serious offence. Those found guilty of similar offences have been given heavy fines and, in some cases, custodial sentences.
